As for Bongigno I wish him well and I like him.
He's smart enough not to try and copy Rush since no one can. All they can do is learn from him as I did for so many years. I too miss him each and every day.
There will never be another Rush Limbaugh
Premiere radio announced the duo they'll plug into Rush's 12-3 slot on many stations beginning June 21st. Clay Travis and Buck Sexton as you've all heard.
The team should be good, with Sexton's knowledge of the machinations of Deep State and with Travis' aggressiveness. To my experience with both, neither possess Limbaugh's sense of humour, showmanship, or near-perfect political analysis based upon years of conservative study of liberal minds, democrat politicians, and media... but no one does. Sexton needs a shot of enthusiasm, which Travis will supply.
On the positive side, while Rush observed from afar and rarely engaged directly, publicly with pols, Travis will do so. Whereas Rush admitted he was hesitant to get know pols so that he could freely criticize them, and didn't want to criticize those he did know, Travis will have no such reservations.
Clay Travis (lawyer trained) grew successful businesses in the sports world, but talked political issues 1/3rd of the time with common-sense clarity. Politics crept into sports hugely in the past two years. He was on Fox prime time several times most recently with Tucker, and Ingraham before that.
His 6-9 am eastern show featured Trump and DeSantis. I credit him with saving BigTen football last year by embarrassing their principals as they tried to hide from a disease that did not affect young healthy athletes.
Many here will not be familiar with the Travis half of the Sexton/Travis duo so let this serve as a primer for some interesting things to come.
Oh, yes...Clay is a good father and family man who loves his wife but also loves "boobs and gambling" and hasn't been shy about either. He's sure to generate lots of publicity right out of the gate
I listened to Bongino’s first show. I has the impression he was to take over all Rush’s stations. Guess this isn’t so. At least he did not interrupt Pres. Trump during his interview. The ads were quite distracting. Our local station is still doing the various fill in guides, using archived Rush material. I am wondering which way they will go, and if they remove this show totally. Not sure I am ready for Buck Sexton and Clay Travis. Miss Rush a lot.
