It did say in some of the writings and videos I saw that he did use Africa as some of his data but a lot of it was in French rest homes as well.
I don’t know about you but its hard for me to argue with a Nobel Prize Winner.
Either way I doubt we will know whether the supposed vaccine or the testing using a swab for either discovering covid or infecting people were the problems for several years to come. My guess is they will be studied to death by many since lawsuits will probably be in the works.

There are thousands of scientists studying the data and the testing, vaccine reactions, vaccine efficacy, and other issues will be thoroughly studied. If the French scientist is using individual (vaccinated) nursing home data, then that's good because it is more granular than entire countries with inconsistent vaccination in some communities. But I would never put too much stock in one scientist or one theory (e.g. ADE from vaccines).

The best overall metric will be the health and well-being of entire populations. It is often pointed out that Sweden didn't lock down. But in fact they did, people simply self-locked-down. Their economy cratered 8% (real terms) in the Q2 of 2020 the same as ours. Their death rate went up the same as ours. The other scandavian countries had better economic outcomes and much better mortality outcomes. But what else? Swedish kids stayed in school. They'll be better off in the long run but the scientists will have to study that too over coming years.
