TACOMA, Wash. - Two Tacoma police officers have been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Manuel "Manny" Ellis and a third officer has been charged with first-degree manslaughter, Attorney General Bob Ferguson announced Thursday.
Officers Christopher Burbank and Matthew Collins are charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter. Officer Timothy Rankine has been charged with first-degree manslaughter.
"I can't Breathe"
All three officers were booked into the Pierce County Jail by Thursday evening, according to the jail roster. They were expected to make their first appearance in court Friday morning.

Some say the other cop on the scene should also be charged.

Actually before answering any calls these days they should pummel the area with 155 fire.
Cops did not have body cams and their version does not match the witness’s version (pizza delivery guy) who did take video.
It doesn’t look good for the cops since the things they claim are contradicted by the video which they didn’t know existed when they made their first statements.
The guy was a homeless mental case with a history of alcohol, and drug abuse. He had a history of violent behavior and had been arrested in Seattle alone more than 100 times... hundreds of other arrests occurred in other locations. He spent his life in and out of jails and mental hospitals. His own family would not take him after making half hearted attempts to get off of booze repeatedly.
He came at the officer with a knife after being ordered to drop it. Now ten years later the history has been edited by Google etc... and you can't find anything but the propaganda. This incident was investigated by every agency under the sun and the officer was not charged. Gee I wonder why? Nice that you are helping out BLM and the other communists who want to disrupt our society by perpetuating these leftist myths. Actually you should be ashamed.

IF these cops are proven to have lied,
They deserve the strongest punishment available.

Here are the details on this one:
Version 1:
Tacoma police officers say they saw Ellis trying to open the doors of occupied vehicles at an intersection.
Then, according to police, Ellis reportedly banged on a police cruiser and attacked an officer.
A sheriffâs news release said Ellis âpicked up the officer by his vest and slammed him to the ground,â denied the officers used chokeholds and dismissed any similarities between Ellisâ death and Floydâs in Minneapolis. âThere were no knees on heads,â he wrote.
Version 2:
Cowden and Sara McDowell the eyewitness who recorded video, describe the scene identically: An officer swung open the passenger door of the cruiser and knocked Ellis to the ground, initiating the frantic and fatal incident.
Cowdenâs video shows an officer take Ellis to the ground from behind with a chokehold. Simultaneously, a second officer fires a stun gun into Ellisâ chest as Ellis appears to reach skyward in a submissive âhands-upâ position.
The video depicts the officerâs knee on Ellisâ neck for at least 40 seconds; Cowden said it was still there after he stopped filming and as he drove away.
Unfortunately for the cops, version 2 is the one with video evidence.
This incident was mischaracterized as all BLM and leftist propaganda is. It was thoroughly investigated by every agency under the sun and the officer was not charged. You simply have no clue what you are talking about.
I once had a psycho point a gun at me point blank and repeatedly pull the trigger. The only thing that saved me was that he had put the cartridges in the magazine backwards. If I had chopped him into pieces with my fire axe you would probably also say that the âmurder was clear as dayâ because there was obviously something wrong with the gun.
The link to the video that didn't show anything other than hearing the officer yelling âput the knife downâ repeatedly before being forced to shoot the mental case with a history of violence from childhood. The camera wasnot pointed at the incident. The audio is easy to understand. You can also here part of what the officer said about being forced to shoot the guy. Do you have any idea how quickly someone can fatally injure you with a knife? Obviously not! It is amazing to me how someone posting on a conservative forum can buy into this nonsense.

There was no knee on the head or neck of Floyd either-
During my career I responded to hundreds of calls where criminals were claiming to have chest pain, difficulty breathing, and every other malady you can imagine. The ones who didn’t think of pulling this type of stunt on the street would often remember to do it after they got hauled to jail. The vast majority of the time it is pure scam, but if they say the right words they get a ride to the hospital and often an oportunity to walk off if the police do not have enough people to accompany them. These days nearly all of them know how to pull it off, especially if they are career criminals.
