NEW MEXICO: A RED STATE IN THE MAKING? (special election on Tuesday)
Humanevents.com ^ | 5/28/21 | Robert T. Wood

New Mexico is often thought of by national prognosticators and DNC operatives as a blue state, giving Dems a clear advantage in the presidential election. The most recent Presidential contest in which New Mexico voted for a Republican was in 2004, which was also the most recent Republican Presidential popular vote victory.

That pattern may not hold: in 2016, three other “blue states” were won by successful Republican Presidential candidate Donald J. Trump: Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. In 2020, New Mexico trended towards the Republicans relative to 2018, with GOP Senate nominee Mark Ronchetti getting a closer-than-expected 45.6% in the race against Democratic winner Ben Ray Lujan. This contest featured the highest percentage won by a Republican Senate nominee in New Mexico since 2002, back when incumbent Senator Pete Domenici won reelection by double digits.

It took cutting their economy in half to get them to wake up.

I will, can’t stand humidity anymore. Plus, sea level air is like breathing spit.

LOL! I completely understand what you are saying.

I grew up with a lot of humidity, but I do not like humidity and high temperatures.

It becomes hard to breath when doing much effort.

NM is a government town. But, there may be enough bad will towards the governor that the Republican can win.

If that bozo libertarian ran for a winnable senate seat a while back we’d be in better shape. Senate was not good enough for him but Everest was. He had to go for the WH.

We moved to St. Louis from upstate New York in peak summer of 1966. Mom fainted dead away from the heat and humidity. Not long after that, my sister fainted in church. Seven years of that was enough!

Am gonna watch what happens in AZ. Got a LOT of Californians moving to this area and every single one I have talked to are conservatives.

We locals DO NOT hesitate to inform them that this county is strictly conservative and to leave their dam liberal politics behind. No matter what issue it is.

What voting machines are they using?

Will they turn off the signature matching software on the mail-in ballots?

It would take a lot of anger from the local citizens at the Biden Regime to overcome cheating like we saw in November 2020.

If the good guy even gets within 10 points of the bad guy, can we call it a “moral victory” and celebrate as if that’s some sort of meaningful accomplishment and a “referendum” for 2002, like the Democrats & media would if the situation was reversed?

Because that’s about the best case scenario here. The Albuquerque area is much worse now than when Heather Wilson was able to win this district.

Can you please send me some arid air? I can send you any amount of humid air you like :)

Oh, and if you can throw in a Mountain View, too, that would be bonus.
