A Texas Republican Senator is joining forces with a Connecticut Democrat to pass a bipartisan bill to strengthen background checks on firearms. The change is small but would end an unintended loophole that has led to mass shootings.

Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut, have been quietly negotiating this bill, NBC News reported Wednesday, but the senators believe they could be on the verge of a compromise deal.

And this is yet another reason why 10 million plus republican voters are going to sit out the midterms and will never see a majority in DC again. This traitor has 5 more years and his career is over.

Biden was Obama’s VP because Biden and his staff knew exactly which Senators could be bought off or could be forced out.

Cornyn got elected because the Democrats ran the crazy lady against him.
MJ Hagar is a nut case.

Cornyn is a TINO (Texan In Name Only) and a disgrace to the State!!! He is one of the bottom feeding swamp dwellers with aspirations to replace the Turtle...

I don’t recall if I voted for him or not. If I did it was with a close pin on my nose.

“That said, I don’t want a ComDem in his place.”

That’s the only reason I voted for him. Texas needs to find someone that can primary him out AND beat the Democrat.

Yes, but he just got re-elected. We’re stuck with him. Only action we have is put the heat on him.

Seems pretty clear in the article. Define who and what qualifies as a gun dealer and therefore needs a FFL. There would be specific exemptions for family to family. Plus the qualifier of makes a profit which every real gun dealer is in the business of. The number of guns sold per year is also likely to be a qualifier.
