Senate Republicans pitch $928 billion infrastructure offer

Senate Republicans on Thursday unveiled a $928 billion infrastructure proposal that includes $506 billion for roads, bridges and major projects and $98 billion for public transit systems.

The latest offer is substantially more than the $568 billion infrastructure framework the group led by Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) introduced in April, but it’s still far short of the $1.7 trillion counteroffer that White House officials came back with last week.

The Republicans are just as stupid and scummy as the Democrats, for the most part. Why they think that just spending a bit less than the other Party is fine is beyond me...

These RINOs are so great at the art of compromise. How about starting with proposing budget cuts?

I object on behalf of my children and grandchildren. They will be shackled with unsustainable debt.

Sounds like a good start to fix the I-40 bridge.

Eisenhower should never have built the interstates. TVA didn’t come in handy in WW2. The internet accomplishes nothing economically. Nuclear power is a waste.

I don’t understand why we keep doing government infrastructure projects when they’re all just obviously a waste of money and never foster economic growth.

It doesn't matter. Neither one is enough anyway.

Until now you probably thought you knew what "infrastructure" is.

There aren't enough non-white, LGBTQ contractors to do the work even if they really planned on doing something about the actual "infrastructure".

Oh, white LGBTQ contractors need not apply.

Federal election Democrats from California and New York State are more worried about having state taxpayers than federally paid babysitters.

Unless the state and local tax limitation is removed, elected Democrats in the House and Senate will not support Biden’s “infrastructure” bill.

As high-income folks foresee 2022:

California ~= 40% federal + 3% Medicare + 12% FICA +13% state ~= 68%

NYC ~+ 40% federal + 3% Medicare + 12% FICA + 10% state + 7% NYC ~= 72%

Florida/Texas ~= 40% federal + 3% Medicare + 12% FICA ~= 55%

High-income folks would keep about 60% more of their money by fleeing AOC’s NYC.

It should read:
Unless the $10,000 state and local tax deduction limitation is removed from federal tax law, elected Democrats in the House and Senate will not support Biden’s “infrastructure” bill.

Remember:
The tax flight from the high-tax blue taxes to red states like mine(Florida) is causing the biggest infrastructure problems.

Here in Florida substantial impact fees are levied on all new development pay for the new schools and new/wider roads of economic growth.

To hook up to water service costs about $5,000 in fees.

I don’t know what fees are to hook up to sewer service, but it surely is in the thousands of dollars.

I see not one cent of any federal bill’s “infrastructure” money going to the purpose of reducing these infrastructure fees.

These infrastructure bills totally ignore the needs of rural folks.

Not one bill pays one cent for a French-style micro-station d’épuration that the French prefer over septic tanks and leech fields.

https://devibat.com/prix-micro-station-epuration-individuelle.php

That 5,000 Euros starting price is $6,000.

Many rural folks need new wells. Not one cent is included in any bill for such wells.

Nothing much was done in 2009 except create road signs saying that the road, bridge etc was going to be fixed.... and they never were. The signs cost a lot of money you know.
