Thirty percent of Americans sometimes feel unsafe in public as crime rages in American cities, according to an AP-NORC poll released May 26.
The poll asked, “How often would you say you feel unsafe in public because of your race or ethnicity?”
Thirty percent of respondents said they often or sometimes feel unsafe, while black Americans felt the most unsafe at 63 percent.

The findings come as the far-left have called for defunding police departments.
But according to Fox News on Tuesday, homicides have drastically increased from 2020:
•22 Percent Increase in Chicago
•127 Percent Increase in Los Angeles County
•113 Percent Increase in Minneapolis
•132 Percent Increase in Oakland
•800 Percent Increase in Portland

The National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), which is the self-designated world’s largest organization law enforcement officers, walloped calls to defund the police.
The group’s national Vice President Joe Gamaldi said defunding police is “not a rational, nor reasonable policy position,” pointing to the high crime numbers.
Defund the police is not a rational, nor reasonable policy position. Murders surging in every city who was foolish enough to try.

I live in Oregon and moved from Eugene to Rogue River or 4.5 instead of 2.0 hours south of Portland. Our family has subsequently decided the people running the state are such idiots that moving to Wyoming is necessary.
I live in a Republican city in a Republican borough in a Republican state, so I feel pretty safe. But I still carry my Glock 23 and two spare mags.
I live in a fairly safe suburb. I don’t go to any of the bad parts of town or hang out with unsavory people. I also have a 9mm CZ 2075 Rami on me at all times.
That alleged 30% must be those that don’t own guns. /s
"There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then (I) look around and see someone white and feel relieved."
In today's cities, robbery is the least of your worries.
Envious!
“I live in a Republican city in a Republican borough in a Republican state, so I feel pretty safe.”
About all you can do, but if Biden’s people get their way, you won’t be safe, with the 2 main reasons being:
1) Take over of law enforcement - either local/state law enforcement will behave as Washington demands, or they will be prosecuted and replaced (and forget about 2nd Amendment sanctuaries).
2) Packing of red areas with immigrants (self explanatory).
They only need one more vote in the Senate to accomplish both. Replace a RINO, any RINO, with a Democrat, and it’s game over for the red areas of the country.
“Thirty percent of respondents said they often or sometimes feel unsafe, while black Americans felt the most unsafe at 63 percent.”
Who or what are the 63% afraid of? The other 37%?
They're the ones living in the violent, lawless Black neighborgoods.
It’s not just major metros...
What this article is really saying:
People are afraid to be near blacks (including blacks themselves)!
Not too often, because I try to avoid going to places where I would be unsafe in public because of my race or ethnicity.
Ruger and Springfield Armory are always with us. 😏
That's right. To avoid violence, stay away from Black people.
I live in an area where everyone looks like me. Many young people leave here when they get old enough, a timeless practice in Appalachia. But they return after the kids leave home. Most of them just want to live in a safe, quiet area with access to cheap real estate, shopping and a hospital.
Many are like me. If you demand I go back to the office, I might retire. There’s enough remote work to support me. Just about every month, another one of my wife’s classmates moves back to the area.
I grew up in a city and my brother has already been mugged there. I have been on campus for 3 school shootings. I value safety over everything.
Not true. There are black people here and I never felt unsafe around them. Some of my cousins here have a black parent. I’ve worked in ministries with black people.
It depends on where you are. I worry much more in urban areas
