Like on so many other occasions, Joe confused the infamous Tuskegee syphilis experimentation on blacks with the black Tuskegee airmen. Joe’s confusion just another example of his mental decline.
The Tuskegee Airmen, like most of the country, would not have known about the medical experiment until about the time they were retiring from the Air Force.
