The don’t want seven more, they want six. They want this to fail with 69 votes so they can use it as a campaign issue against the Republicans. Then they’ll do what they want to do all along, hold hearings on this in the House where they have majorities on the committees, control over subpoenas, and won’t have an artificial deadline of December 31 of this year. They want to Benghazi Trump and the GOP, and an independent committee would prevent that.
