A bar in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood is now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry.
CC’s posted on its Facebook page that the new policy will take effect May 22. The post pointed to constant changing of mask directives as part of the reason for the new policy, saying the changes “caused confusion and frustration over the right thing to do.”
The bar said that the policy protects staff and everyone who chooses to enter and provides incentive to get vaccinated.
Customers have to show a copy or picture of their vaccine card with the name and date matching their legal ID to enter.
“We understand this may be inconvenient or controversial for some, but it is safer for everyone in the long run,” the post read.
Easy fix never go there again and tell them why!!!
They’re not employees, they’re people who wish to do business; HIPPA doesn’t play any part in the transaction of someone voluntarily disclosing that information for their own gain (access to the establishment.) There’s no mandating anything, you want access, you can show your ID and your vaccination card.
The only supposition which has the slightest chance of pushing through is the public accommodations act, but again, you’ve got to find the religion which doesn’t agree with vaccinations and agrees with hard liquor being served (in presumably a gay bar...)
The case will go nowhere.

I read the headline as “Washington Bar now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination for entry” and I thought, wow, now all lawyers in WA are required to have it.
If private businesses want to pull this, I’m fine with it. That way I know where NOT to spend my time or money. The problem comes when The Mob (formerly incorrectly known as The Government) shakes down businesses to do it.
Scanning IDs isn’t happening by me yet. My sister told me about getting into a discussion with a CVS cashier about it. She would not let her license be scanned. What kind of tape do you use?
It's not legal. Here's why:
Under federal law, employers and universities cannot legally mandate COVID vaccines because they are unlicensed Emergency Use Authorization products which are, by definition, experimental:
