Former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) will headline a fundraiser for Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), one of the House Republicans’ loudest anti-Trump critics .
The fundraiser invitation reads that tickets range from $250 to $11,600 per person. Kinzinger was one of ten House GOP members to vote in favor of Trump’s second impeachment.
Ryan, who departed from Congress in 2018, and is now a board member of Fox , has been critical of Trump and is reportedly seeking to place a more active roll in shaping the Republican Party’s future.
Ryan predicted that the still-popular Trump “is going to fade” as Republicans increase their focus on winning the 2022 midterms and the 2024 presidential election.
He added. “It’s going to take us a few years to sort out who are we, what do we believe? My … hope is that we rally around a set of principles and ideas and policies, not a specific person.”
Since leaving Congress, Ryan told American Carnage author Tim Alberta that he wanted to “scold [the president] all the time” because he “didn’t know anything about government.”
Ryan also targeted Trump over allegations of infidelity and labeling pornstar Stormy Daniels “horse face,” and claimed he and the others prevented the former president “from making bad decisions.”
“Fox keeps on plugging to try and become politically correct,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “They put RINO Paul Ryan on their Board. They hire “debate questions to Crooked Hillary fraud Donna Brazile (and others who are even worse),” the former president tweeted last April.

On local talk yesterday a Heritage Foundation guest suggested that GOP elites are as much as anything upset by the way Trump reconstituted the Republican Party. They think they are too good for the regular blue collar voters Trump attracted.
Trump may fade but I will never return to a Ryanesque GOP, with my money or my vote. I have not returned to the Ryanesque FOXNEWS (including Carlson) and never will. I have moved away from TV pundits and have changed my habits for getting my news and information. These useful idiots really think the 73+ million who voted for Trump are all GOP acolytes. We are the conservative voters who the GOP has treated much the same way the RATS treat black voters. It is past time for conservatives to leave the GOP Plantation.

Yes, and this is revealing as to the GOPe. Let’s absorb the lesson.

The GOPe folks are about 1% of the vote. If you recall polling you’ll know that in most election years, the GOP candidate loses 10% of the GOP vote (same for Dems).
2020 wasn’t particularly different in what was measured. 10%, meaning there were so few Never Trumpers they could not move the needle on the meter to anything different than a pre-Trump year.
The only reason we hear about this 1% is the media gives them coverage.
It’s time to organize the primary challenges. Who is running against Katzinger and is essentially clean (unlike the guy in Wyoming). IT IS ABOUT ERASING THESE PEOPLE. It’s not about anything else. We don’t need 8 guys trying to out Trump each other. Pick the cleanest guy and let’s go.
