I do not have an objection against any effort against tax evasion, especially cryptocurrencies, just so long as they follow the law and apply it equally.
There was a question on the 1040 form this year about cryptocurrency.
I’m not into bitcoin so have no vested interest in what happens. But I fail so see how it is any business of the IRS if people buy or spend Bitcoin.

The problem with the IRS is that you are guilty until you prove your innocent. Adding 87k employees will only make a living hell of the lives of law abiding citizens. The solution is simple. Eliminate the IRS. Abolish via constitution amendment the federal income tax and institute a federal sales and use tax. Along of lines of Bortz Fair Tax, but without the socialism crap of basic income.
How about hiring staff to process returns? There’s mail from January they haven’t opened yet.
A caller on the Mark Liven radio show today said that the US is following to the T the criminal actions that turned Czechoslovakia into a communist state. One of the first thing the communists did was to take control of all of Czechoslovakia’s government enforcement agencies. Clearly the US government is now a hardened criminal organization and one of its most powerful agencies is the IRS. Doubling the IRS staffing is feeding the beast that will eventually eat all of America. They DC communist cabal now owns and controls all of DC to include the US military, all of the federal law enforcement agencies to include all of the courts. They won’t stop until they are stopped.
