PHOENIX (AP) — Firms hired to run a partisan audit of the 2020 election for Senate Republicans in Arizona said Tuesday that data was not destroyed, reversing earlier allegations that election officials in the state's most populated county eliminated evidence.
The claim of deleted databases was amplified by former President Donald Trump and his supporters, who believe conspiracy theories about election irregularities.
Ben Cotton, founder of a computer forensics firm working on the audit, told key senators that he had recovered all data. The revelation came a day after Maricopa County officials released a scathing letter saying the auditors couldn't find the data because they didn't know where to look.
“I have the information I need from the recovery efforts of the data,” said Cotton, founder of CyFIR LLC.
He spoke at a livestreamed hearing called by Republican Senate President Karen Fann to demand answers from county officials about the allegation of deleted data and improper documentation of ballot storage.
The GOP-controlled county Board of Supervisors refused to show up, instead holding a blistering meeting of their own Monday to refute the allegations. They called the audit a “sham” and said Fann's auditors are incompetent.

What do you do?
Nice. That's more thoughtful and mature than most of your musings.
Maybe there's hope yet.
Maybe the are bozos (time and the results will tell that) but this AP article is a bald face lie.
The Maricopa elections data base files were illegally accessed at least 5 times between the end of the election and the time someone ultimately deleted and tried to erase them on 4/12/21 - several days before they were to turned over to the auditors.
The fact who ever deleted the files prior to hand off to the audit team was unsuccessful at permanently wiping the drives and the files were able to be forensically recovered from the data drives does not mean a crime has not been committed. to that the audit team are bozos.
The lies coming out of the Maricopa County elections officials and the media are stunning. One reporterette actually tried to defame the audit team by saying that the auditors were lying because the Az state voter registration data base had not been erased. she actually deliberately tried to conflate the election results and the image files of adjudicated votes with the Az voter registration data base to confuse Arizonans
Fact is 1/3 of the votes have been reviewed and that is more than enough of a sample to prove wide spread irregularities have been uncovered. Fraud is the logical explanation. If there any bozosity at work here it is non the part of Maricopa County and the elections team because they were just to damn incompetent to properly wipe the drives with a mil spec data removal utility so the data could not be reconstructed from the disk volumes
As the years have passed, those "stalwarts" have revealed what sort of amoral pondscum they really are...
He didn't say that. See 119.He did say that. See 15:
All of this, however, may be a moot point because subsequently I have been able to recover all of those deleted files, and I have access to that data.
The auditor never said that the folder was missing because of a misconfigured Array. The county said that! It simply isn’t true.
As I stated several times the original server data was never changed. The county and auditor can simply turn on the server and prove who is lying.
If you listen to the qualifications of the IT Auditor you know his company worked it multi-national companies and three letter agencies to recover data. They did not ever said they misconfigured an array.
Their equipment they use to recover and rebuild data costs tens of thousands of dollars. I doubt they did something bonehead stupid.
You are taking the word of cheaters (no doubt large democratic strongholds have been cheating for decades) and incompetent, unskilled county IT over a large data recovery company. Amazing.
Note that post #124 by rdcbn1 completely blows your Ape Pee/XiNN propaganda pumping out of the water...
Thanks for the specifics. I remember seeing a clip of that testimony on Rumble this morning. Is anyone surprised any more about the spectacular dishonesty of the MSM?
That's Maricopa County's story. Doesn't mean that it's true.
Sounds to me like somebody with bad intentions deleted some of the files and it was they who didn't understand the redundant configuration of the RAID.
This thread is like one of those glue mouse traps for FR Election Fraud deniers!
They can't help themselves!
1) This is the AP. Caution. Remember, they claim to not have known that the building they were in (in Gaza) was shared with Hamas.
2) My understanding is that the files were missing, and they found by the auditors. That is not the same as they were missing and then the people who lost them found them.
3) Of course someone is trying to sabotage.
4) At first I was surprised that the election comm. folk has not been subpenaed. But, then I realized that if you do that first, they clam up. Now is the time to subpena.
When he says "deleted files" he referring to the ones the MFT indicated were deleted.
His "recovery" consisted of pointing the MFT to the right location on the RAID array, where the files had been all along.
Maybe.
Let's see what bombshell revelations come from the recovered database.
The County would never have deleted it unless it was very incriminating.
This could change everything.
"deleted" files on a computer are there all along - until they are overwritten.
But you knew that, didn't you?
You're just here to confuse people who aren't computer people. Period.
Note how easily the FakeNews pumpers get swatted down on this thread.
On Twitter, we'd be getting pummeled by the FakeNews bots, quoting "knowledgeable-sounding" snippets like we see here from the pumpers, while the rebuttal videos would be getting blocked and deleted by the Tweetstapo, ScrewBloob and FascistBuch.
I think what they actually said was they were able to recover the deleted information
freeper rigelkentaurus: I listened to the Senate hearing this afternoon. What CNN stated is false, surprise surprise. What the auditor said was the data WAS deleted, but that they were able to successfully recovery it fully and that the issue is moot from there audit viewpoint as they now have the data.
Who deleted it and when is still an open question, and that is certainly destruction of evidence and in violation of AZ election law. Doubt it will be pursued, but the reality is completely different than CNN claims.
