Real Lee descendants did complain— but did WaPo listen? hell no.

You should find this interesting. Sec. State Seward purposely pigeonholed Robert E. Lee’s Oath of Amnesty, given in Lexington County, VA October 2nd, 1865. His and his officer’s Parole was granted by General Grant at Appomattox.

The absolute lies being used contemporaneously about Robert E. Lee are fabrications. The facts are well known to historians and archivists— which is, of course, no-one the WaPo would ever do a modicum of research to verify- either in the case of his so-called “descendant”, or in the media today to understand that Lee swore aleigance to the US and was paroled— he was not a criminal. He was Commandant at West Point and his brother was Commandant of the then US Naval Academy— prior to the war. Lee’s father was Revolutionary War hero Light Horse Harry Lee (General Washington and General Nathanael Greene’s trusted cavalry dragoon leader of Lee’s Legion.
