There were 17k new cases yesterday, Monday. Cases are always low on Mondays. Today, there are 53,585 new cases, which is the highest case count since May 1.
Unfortunately, backing down on public health measures can result in increased cases. It all depends on how well people keep observing measures to physically inhibit virus transmission. Unvaccinated people who immediately stop wearing masks and get in each other’s faces are prime candidates to come down with Covid-19.
