Right. Gates’s interest in Epstein had more to do with piece than peace. This has the smell of a media salvo from the Gates camp. This is the “I was only doing research” defense in essence.

It's funny how in the past Gates was usually portrayed as a good guy--a boyish enthusiast in the tech industry--and Steve Jobs was always portrayed as a conniving monster. Not that Jobs wasn't an SOB from time to time, but I can't imagine him flirting with a child molester so he could get a Nobel Prize (something he probably didn't give a rip about). Turns out Gates is the real monster.
