And Susan Cheever wrote a book about America and its booze addiction and claims that his Secret Service detail was not sharp on November 22 because many had been out drinking until 4 AM the previous night/morning.

Yes, at the Carousel Club, owned by Jack Ruby.

“The whole point is for me to be accessible to the people.”

That stupid rule will bring harm to someone. Prudence is better than accessibility.

Oh right and the Warren Commission, what a pack of geniuses they were.

When you think about the JFK assassination, you should remember only one thing:

He was killed by domestic enemies, and they wander to and fro on our streets to this day.

I wonder how world history would have changed if Oswald only got the first Kennedy non-fatal shot, not the fatal headshot.

What would have happened in Vietnam? To the corrupt Johnson? To the Apollo project as problems mounted?

That's an interesting "alternative history" project right there.

He was killed by LH Oswald with the backing of Alpha 66, an anti-Castro group that had been infiltrated by Castro’s intelligence service.

The Cellar, in Fort Worth.

https://www.dallasnews.com/arts-entertainment/architecture/2015/02/10/secret-services-1963-night-in-fort-worths-cellar-recalled/

Agent Clint Hill, the one who leaped on the trunk of the presidential limousine, told the Warren Commission that he stayed at the Cellar until 2:45 a.m. Speaking last year to Vanity Fair, he shaved about an hour off that statement, saying he left before 2 a.m., returned to the Hotel Texas and put in a breakfast order for 6 a.m.

Agent Paul Landis, who, like Hill, rode on the running board of the Secret Service car behind the Kennedys, said he didn’t leave the Cellar until 5 a.m.

...As Schieffer recently told Vanity Fair, “The Cellar was an all-night, San Francisco-style coffeehouse down the street, and some of the visiting reporters had heard about it and wanted to see it. So we all went over there, and some of the agents came along. The place didn’t have a liquor license, but they did serve liquor to friends — usually grain alcohol and Kool-Aid.”

Six Secret Service agents stayed until around 3 a.m.

I think some of those details are questionable. Wasn’t it a “bottle club” which meant you provided your own bottle of liquor?

Places were semi-dry (and at least into 2000 some in the Dallas area still were) where you needed a “membership” to buy drinks.

Just to clarify, you mean the first miss shot right? The 2nd throat hit was completely lethal. The headshot just ensured it.

Correct, and blaming the Republicans all the while.

The way they keep rewriting history, in few years they’ll have him shooting himself.

I did not know that. I was under the impression that the first shot was not fatal, but I have not studied the subject in detail.

My limited understanding was:

Shot 1: Miss;
Shot 2: Grazes spine, exits neck;
Shot 3: Ugly beyond belief.

They’ve already claimed that the driver shot him.

2nd didn’t just graze spine, I don’t think. It punched right through and out. That was most likely a fatal hit. They did do surgery on the front which makes the autopsy photos appear more damaged however.
