Doses Delivered: 2.6 Million (a bit Weak) (71,000 J&J - low for the pre-pause norm)

Total Administered: 2.4 Million (a bit better than the new norm) (126,000 J&J - a pre-pause norm)

New People Receiving 1st Dose: 965,000 (An uptick)

People Fully Vaccinated: 1.5 Million (Good)

Strong inventories on hand (74 million).

% Total Population with at least a First Shot: 47.1% (up 0.3)

Those ≥ 18 Years of Age (Adults): 59.4% (up 0.3)

Those ≥ 65 Years of Age: 84.4% (up 0.2) (72.4% Fully vaccinated - up 0.3)

Cases and New Hospitalizations continue trending downward. It is a pretty strong trend now, over the last month.

690 New Deaths reported (flat).

J&J still pretty lame overall.

A few more new first shots on this report - back near a million for the day. A higher percentage of teens and 20 somethings.

With all due respect, please do not try polishing a turd.

Less than 1 million 1st shots may be a slight uptick from 750K but it is still exceedingly low compared to just a few months ago.

There is very little general motivation with what’s left of the population to get vaccinated and the 1st shot numbers could accurately be considered a trickle considering inventories of close to 75 million and universal avaiability.

Some folks don’t like being part of a medical experiment - that’s all. They are a smaller part of the population. But based on the numbers they are not at risk anyway. Some 85% of the people who are at any risk have had the injections. Let the young possibly get covid - they will only improve their humoral immunity. Their immune system kicks the virus’s ass.

I’m actually pretty ambivalent when it comes to people getting vaccinated or not.....It remains as it should completely a personal decision.

Just stating my interpretation of the facts.

Most young people by far are intended to be vaccinated. They just have priorities, you know, like having fun, working, having fun and the like...oh, and vaccinations, when opportunity and time allow. ;)

It wasn’t a personal decision for that lady. The injection was given when she was unresponsive. I can’t believe that happened even one time. It’s so wrong.

As others have said, once the most motived 60% get their shot it would be hard to imagine the daily rate not falling.
I hope people choose to get vaccinated before the effect of the vaccine for those who got the shot 4 to 6 months ago starts to ware off.
Certainly some percent of the population will never take the shot so I don’t think we should waist each others time arguing against each other, but those who are just procrastinating could be accommodated by eased access.

One thing that drives me crazy is they ignore people like me that got Covid and recovered. I have the anti-bodies, don’t need a shot. We should be counted as vaccinated.

One of the things I did find out was that since I got the Regeneron therapy, I cannot get the ‘vaccine’ for 90 days. I hear it’d interfere with what the therapy does for me.

In the meantime, I still have to put up with the pressure and the ridicule of my friends and family who are pushing hard for me to get the shot.

Sorry to say it was academic as the “lady” involved per write up was “unresponsive” when shot was given so the likelihood of her imminent death was pretty much a given.

From the reading that I've done, the vaccination will give you more immunity and immunity against more COVID-19 variants. I might have already have the virus before getting vaccinated, because there were side effects with the first Moderna dose. The effects weren't bad at all, though. Hardly noticeable tenderness on the upper arm (not even worth mentioning, really) and a little tiredness for about a day or two. Same side effect after the second dose but even milder. Nothing to cry about either time.

If you decide to... Tell the friends and relatives that you *might* get the shots, because you wanted to--not because they said so. ;)

Anyone who is reasonable will understand in a few sentences that you have immunity (from Exposure), and are not yet eligible for the vaccine (because of Regeneron).

Those who are unreasonable, can’t be reasoned with anyway.

There may well be some legal right to privacy of such a medical record, under HIPAA.

However, people should be free to make proving vaccination a requirement of the deal, if you want something from them.

“An uptick” is not much of a polishing job - it is just noting the direction of any changes. I am not shy about calling drops either - it is objective.

This was a notable change from the recent norm of 600-700 K per day. It may be just a blip, but it may be the start of a trend. Just highlighting any daily changes, for early warning of changes as they develop.

That is stupid. If someone has had the vaccine, or covid and have antibodies, why would they care if others got it or not? Dersh is showing his true colors.
