American Thinker had an article today about the world will never have enough rare earth metals for the planned green energy future.

The only currently existing technology that can replace fossil fuels is nuclear fission.

Well, our would-be masters would say that the rest of us could revert to an 18th century standard of living with “renewables”, but once the rest of the proles figure out what that means, they aren’t going to agree to that.

So nukes it will have to be.

The Ghazni Province in Afghanistan has the world’s largest lithium reserves. Maybe pulling our troops out of Afghanistan is a big mistake.

Sure, our government should control it, like Hilary managed our uranium.

Wrong. There will be no EVs for sale. Manufacturers have seen the light. You will only be able to lease them. The leases will include image limitations, surcharges, and all the bells and whistles to maximize the cash flow to the lessor. The class of vehicle you can lease will depend on your income. Expect low income population to be forced on to public transport. More control don’t cha know. If you upset the authorities they’ll be able to remotely shut your vehicle down and prevent it from recharging. You’ll then be stuck at you leased goverment dwelling.

A car’s battery pack would be guaranteed to be recycled, especially if lithium was expensive.

Likewise phone and laptop batteries.

Albamarle.

EMHLF - European Metals.....its a young company that has the rights to the largest lithium deposit in Europe. Its in the Czech Republic right on the border with Germany....right near Tesla and several other auto factories. I just invested in it last week.

I hear the country of Nirvana has plenty of it.

My geography is a little rusty. Is that located south of Canada and north of Mexico?

Oh, none of the above will above will apply to the wealthy or connected. However, your distopian tomorrow is no doubt a long term goal. The disturbing trend of “subscriptions” is a taste of the future.

They're also working on sodium-ion batteries. Lithium is the 25th-most abundant element on earth, sodium is the 7th most abundant (think of all the salt in the ocean), and aluminum is the 3rd most abundant (as well as the most abundant metal).

Lithium is relatively rare in the universe because it's great fusion fuel (it's part of what powers a hydrogen bomb) and is usually burned up as soon as a star makes it.

Until a new non-lithium technology is developed, we'll need to recycle lithium.

Hey Jennifer Granholm. If you drive an ICE car, then lithium shortages "would not be affecting you, clearly." *ugly smirk*

BINGO!

And we’re gonna need more of it to refine to Di-Lithium to power that warp drive!
