If a company pays low wages, they are only hiring crap workers and that means I get a crap product.
Your solution is to work 8 hours a day at McDonalds and not be able to afford in any sort of housing at all?
It's sad that some people make so little that some puny unemployment check is actually an incentive for them not to work.
But if I were in that situation, I'd work anyway, out of pride.
Inflation is raging. They need to pay their labor more and don’t want to.
Regardless of immigration status, I do *NOT* want my food made by someone who can’t go to the doctor and/or stay home when they are sick. One can argue immigration policies, DACA, ‘Illegals’ all day, but I want the person who puts my burrito together to be healthy.

So would, and have, I. But I sometimes feel more like the victim of brainwashing and gaslighting, in other words a SUCKER, than proud of being a hard working American Man.
Too many years on concrete floors and hot roofs while the owners went to Europe on their jets to feel sorry that the tide is turning, even if not for me all that much as I’m near (a fairly comfortable) retirement.
The same people who proclaim the glory of the free market when it suits them, and then whine like little babies when they can’t find slaves to work for $12 an hour and no benefits.

Apparently like so many others on here now, you failed to understand that what the federal government has done through this increased and sustained unemployment benefits period, they’ve taken away the motivation to actually work. They’ve also at the same time artificially inflated the prevailing wage for such basic entry-level jobs that require virtually no skills whatsoever other than to show up on time every day and do what one’s told. The fact that you can’t grasp such a simple concept tells me you don’t belong on Free Republic.
Now since you chose to utter a personal attack, the person who really deserves food poisoning on this thread happens to be you.
