The following looks like a good, short article about spike proteins on the actual SARS-CoV-2 virus. It’s not about vaccines, but it might help to better understand spike proteins. They’re not like metal spikes on tools that we use. They’re only called “spike” proteins because of their appearance. They don’t poke. They rather “bind” and “fuse,” more of a natural bio-chemical process.
