Access to the NY Daily News is banned from Europe, but I’m calling BS on this.
The only sensible measurement is annual “excess deaths” against a 5-year moving average. In the UK that figure is just a 7% increase in 2020, against the 2015-2019 average.
2021 is looking like there may be fewer overall annual deaths than expected, even with COVID. That’s going to take some explaining if we do not get our total freedoms back come mid-June.
We had a 17% increase in total deaths in 2020 over 2019 (500k more). We also had a population increase of about 3 million. We also had lockdowns causing stress deaths and deaths from deferred medical care.
