What’s unfolding in a New Jersey court might confound even the late-night radio legend and king of conspiracies Art Bell.
In one corner is David Rubini, a fast-talking on-air talent with a Texas twang, who styles himself a former protégé of Bell’s and his disciple on the radio mic.
Rubini’s nemesis, Michael Marshalek of Hoboken, is a conspiracy-radio fan turned anti-face-mask crusader. Of late, he faces charges for allegedly holding his 5-year-old son captive during a police standoff over COVID restrictions.

What does this have to do with the late Art Bell or anything?
“ At stake is a piece of Bell’s legacy: a collection of the Radio Hall of Famer’s final shows before he died in 2018. Rubini claims that Marshalek invested in his online radio venture and then stole Bell’s archives. He aims to get them back.”
Apparently Art Bell knew too much about Kenny
You didn’t read the article, did you.
Thinks.
I find it unlikely this Rubini would own copyright to Art Bell’s archives.
The article explains everything that pertains to Art Bell.
“You didn’t read the article, did you.”
No.
I doubt my browser would even open it if I clicked through.
Just his last 100 shows with Rubin’s company.
I thought he passed away.
“Just his last 100 shows with Rubin’s company.”
That makes sense, but is surprising Bell would agree to license to such an operation.
Bell was very popular.
Marshalek sounds like a very unhinged individual. The other guy should not expect any short term resolution or satisfaction.
Those archives would be great to have, but they are not necessarily a must-have. Any devotee of Art Bell knows that the show covered many different themes, some serious, some ridiculous, others impossible to classify.
What does one say about the infamous Chupacabras?
Perhaps the legacy will be new interviews and discussions that have been inspired by Art.
I loved most of his shows, but the host was only a part of that experience.
Just look for someone a tad bit more exciting, and less predictable than George Noory. I would guess, George is still hosting Coast to Coast on Podcast or the net.
Thanks for posting this.
for those confused, this is not about Coast to Coast or the Art Bell show
this is for a different show that he did for a while (I think it may have been internet only, at least it was not on any broadcast station near me)
the coast to coast archives are out there and about 66gb unfortunately the sound quality on some are poor.
I still listen to them at night.
Art may not have been the best Radio Guy of all time, but he will always be in the top 5
I learned recently that he was forced sued the Savage guy for slander. (imho savage should have apologized and it was untrue and uncalled for)
I would also expect Art’s last wife would have some say about how the estate is now handled. She may still be in the Phillipines with his daughter.
He had a son from his first wife, Ramona.
There were some very strange things said about his son and his first marriage. I never quite knew what was real and what was just ‘talk’. I tried to enjoy Art for who he was on the radio. In real life, who knows? I purposely chose not to delve into all the dirt being thrown about.
Ramona was not his first wife, and he had no children with her.
My bad. He was married 4 times. I thought she was the first.
I, also, live in the Kingdom of Nye.
I’ve tried to listen to his shows after he died, because I was too young in the 1990s to have heard him. I don’t like the shows that much.
