Nope. Far too broad a statement. The issue is recurrent danger. But, there are some felonies that are not related to violence that restoring after penalty is served makes sense. I know people who have not been restored after 15 years, who have never committed another crime. In one case it was at 19 years of age, was not violent or drugs. The law in Texas is 20 years after sentence served. There are other cases that I know of that court action has restored them in much quicker time.

If someone is such a threat that they can't be trusted out in society with a firearm, then why should they be trusted out in society at all?
