While I agree we could do better, I really THE MESSAGE this sends to rest of the party...which is that they most anti-Trump Republican is being replaced by the most Pro-Trump Republican, at least when it comes to defending Trump.

I submit that there have to be women in the Republican caucus who are just as firm in their support of Trump but with a better voting record that Stefanik has.

I’m willing to give her a shot - at a minimum it will be tough for her to insult us Trump supporters, given her own history of supporting Trump.

Why? What does she bring that a different woman with a more conservative voting record won't? Is this supposed to be some sort of 'big tent' demonstration? That moderate Republicans can rise to positions of power? Is that the message we really want to send?

I think Elise is one of the "chosen ones" and they have been slowly working for a while to build her up.

There's a lot going on here behind the scenes.

She's not the best at all from our perspective but another woman who may be better will not be pushed forward at this time. I'd love to see Cheney gone. Her impeachment vote is unforgiveable.
