Officer's TikTok Message In Defense Of Police Goes Viral: 'There Are Bad People In Every Career!'

A frustrated police officer whose TikTok message on the treatment of law enforcement went viral told "Fox & Friends" Tuesday that he's "had enough" of the negative portrayal of policing.

Major Kelvin Dingle, operation commander at the Morehouse School of Medicine Department of Public Safety in Atlanta, Georgia, explained what led him to post the passionate video where he proclaimed he's "so tired" of being viewed as bad.

"It seems like every night we go to sleep or every morning we wake up, there's something negative that's portrayed about law enforcement," Dingle said. "I was riding home and I was thinking in regards to everything and now it's just different. I'm driving next to people and people are just frowning at me. People are purposely doing things to get my attention. They're flipping me off."

"Don't get me wrong," he continued, "it is what it is, some people make bad decisions. But the majority of us that put this badge on every day, the majority of us want to protect and serve.... We're generally good-hearted people that want to make a difference… And that day, I just, honestly, had enough. My heart was broken because of the things that I saw in just traveling home to my family, and it wasn't always that way."

That actually sounds more like Rent-A-Cops.

Universities and large public school systems quite often run their own PDs. Here’s this one.

Here’s nearby Georgia Tech’s

And Georgia State’s

I think where this is headed is they’re trying to destroy trust in local police, so then those oh-so-trustworthy new Federal police can be brought in everywhere.

My son went to Georgia Tech so I know the campus. Still, that’s a private police department so it’s not like they have to show up when there is a big BLM demonstration going on outside CNN headquarters. I’m not even sure if they are allowed to chase muggers once they leave the campus.

They are allowed by law, department/university policy may differ. And they certainly have some level of mutual aid in place with nearby jurisdictions. That said, mutual aid has been greatly strained in the area by events of last year. Most of the suburban agencies have stopped any mutual aid short of an officer down situation. This because of the actions of the Fulton prosecutors, and Atlanta mayor and city council.

Georgia Tech is one of the most dangerous campuses in the country so the cops should have plenty of practice. Still, my son enjoyed his time there and graduated in one piece.

Correct. They’re not all bad like the bunch that attacked Karen Garner in Colorado, broke her bones and beat her and got sadistic enjoyment out of reviewing the incident on video.

.. it’s just the 80% that make the other 20% look bad.
