This is a no-brainer for Wash DC.
Subsidize electric vehicles.
Penalize petroleum vehicles.
At some point most folks will be forced by the economics.
I don’t drive that much, but I am worried when they start forcing us to give up nat gas for home heating, cooking, and hot water.
The City Council in our little town here on the San Francisco Peninsula is beavering away to stop all future natural gas hook-ups in new construction. I don’t think they are going to require you to pull out your natural gas hook-up in a remodel...YET. They did a survey of the citizens, but I haven’t seen the results. I expect they will get the results they want to get. Plus, this is such a liberal town that it would probably pass if put to a vote.
The irony is that California is massively short on electric generation, shut down all of its nuclear plants, and prohibits the importation of any coal power.
Isn’t this Washington STATE? NOT DC.
