It sounds like its efficacy is right up there with the vaccines that have been developed. The reduction in viral load also sounds similar to Ivermectin which is strangely not discussed.

I have no problem with meds that treat a disease but I still think a vaccine should be the front like drug of choice against viruses. I also think that Covid will ultimately adapt to any treatment we throw at it. I don’t see it going away.

It's because Trump mentioned it. Ivermectin is still unknown because it's cheap and would compete with meds that are $3-$4k per dose.
