Tactically, Facebook is on the horns of a dilemma. They know if they ban him for life then Trump and other investors will ramp up to warp speed (DJT has done that before with the vaccine) and develop their own social media platform to compete with FB/Twitter, etc.

If FB lets Trump back on then they can hope that Trump & Co. won’t work as hard developing their own platform as they can once again use FB. It may allow FB et al. to stall for time before new workaround platforms are developed by conservatives to compete directly with them.

If I were Trump, I would continue full speed ahead with creating an alternative conservative media platform regardless of what FB does. Trump can never trust when in the future FB would once again pull the rug out from under him and ban him again on some trumped up (pardon the pun) charge.

What Trump is doing here in the near future are mere baby steps towards a true media platform, but it ain’t a true platform. Trump and other wealthy conservatives must produce a competing communications platform to go to war with libs on their own turf. Trump has to go further towards starting a real platform, not just a prototype.

If Facebook/Twitter let Trump return, they’re laying grounds for him to sue over libelous treatment: letting him back questions whether the ban was appropriate, a decision they are responsible for.
