No, not at all.

1. Of the people vaccinated, only a small percentage will later be exposed to the virus to the degree that they (if they were NOT vaccinated) would be infected and develop a symptomatic COVID-19 infection.

2. Of that small portion significantly exposed to the virus (again, to the degree that if they were not vaccinated they would be infected and develop symptomatic disease), about 90% would not even be infected. This means that their immune systems would destroy the invading viruses before they could develop a detectable foothold. THIS 90% IS TRULY IMMUNE. Since this 90% does not become infected, they can’t pass the virus on to others and infect them.

3. Of that small portion significantly exposed to the virus, about 5% would actually develop a detectable infection (prior to destroying the invading viruses) but it would be so minor that these people would be asymptomatIc and not feel sick at all. While technically they could infect others, their viral load is so small that infecting others would be rare.

4. Of that small portion significantly exposed to the virus, the remaining 5% would be infected and develop symptomatic COVID-19 but almost all their cases would be mild and not result in hospitalization or death. When you’re talking about tens of millions vaccinated, the small sliver of this 5% who develop severe disease will certainly happen and you will hear of hospitalizations and death. These usually will be people with weak immunity. Also, this 5% of symptomatic cases will be able to infect others but NOT anywhere near as easily as they could have if they had not been vaccinated.
