The breakthrough cases are about 1 in 10,000. Probably rise a little as time goes on. Most vaccinated people have only been vaccinated a month or two. But it should stay very low.

a few will still get the disease and a few of those will die.

About 1% of breakthrough cases die. The CDC says there are more undetected breakthroughs so the mortality is lower. But that's the same as COVID hitting unvaccinated people. Currently about 1% mortality, and there are undetected cases it's less than that.

The main reason to get the vaccine is to prevent infection. Effectiveness seems to be pretty good. Safety seems good too.

Prophylactic meds prevent infection also.
