I wouldn't call it a fear, it's more like a growing realization that Covid isn't going to simply go away.
We saw early on that it didn't really affect kids, because their thymus glands are better able to respond to novel pathogens than an elderly person's.
Covid is going to find a way around that. As it's preferred host gains immunity, it will adapt to use children who are not being vaccinated. In this way, it will continue to exist and it will become something new and different. maybe something less deadly, maybe more, maybe both from one year to the next.
It could end up getting into the animal population for that matter. And, who knows, maybe we get Covid A and Covid B variants at some point.
