This is a legitimate action for any municipality to freeze cop counts where they are. And for multiple reasons, not the least of which is budget control and allocation.

And from my point of view, good policy.

Cops rarely do what the taxpayer wants them to do, for myriad reasons, and thus have become a burden to most income tax payers and property tax payers.

Their refusal to enforce property crimes makes them mostly useless to the middle class.

“Root causers” became a cliche of ridicule forty years ago. I am continually stunned to read this meaningless meme still being used by actual officials. It is a guarantee that no change will ever happen as long as people are wasting their time searching for (pulling out?) “roots.”

On the other hand, here is a prime opportunity for St. Louis to show the rest of us that fewer police IS the way to go..I sincerely wish them the best. The "Show Me State" can now be a showcase!!

Can't help but succeed; the fewer cops, the fewer crime reports taken or recorded, therefore less crime. See, problem solved.

St. Louis is a "no-go" zone. I'm not familiar with Busch Stadium but hope they have private security at the parking lot so they can guard the fans as they go to the games.

Braves decided that it was not worth the trouble so they moved outside of Atlanta and built the new stadium in Cobb County, Georgia. Smart move.

Busch Stadium is in downtown proper. Very little crime there. I’ve been there many times and never worry about anything.

Busch Stadium is in the area which is well-patrolled, and based upon the murder-maps, is on the other side of the Federal Reserve Bank and national park/monuments from the local murderville - though there is a small colony south of that strip.
