The only correct response is to immediately but quietly remove all nukes

As I understand it: to remove the weapons, we need to fly in special planes and crews to remove them - not something that can be done on the QT or in secret; we have to notify Turkey of everything we do regarding entering and exiting the country - basically we would need their permission. If not. they would shoot our planes down and storm the base.
I don’t think we actually need a special plane to remove 50 B61 nukes. We just need to write a procedure to do it on whatever plane we are using. Almost any decent cargo plan can lift that load.
Special crews? That should not be hard to get there or to work around. We cannot let bureaucratic inertia put nuclear weapons at risk. We’re not asking them to disassemble the nukes, just to strap “up to 50” nukes in place aboard an airplane or two.
And we are the USA. We do not need Turkey’s permission to remove weapons that they have implicitly threatened.
