Trump suggests GOP replace McConnell as Senate leader, senator suggests Trump not party's 'future'

Former President Trump said Thursday that he expects his Republican Party to do well during next year's midterm elections but suggest they replace Sen. Mitch McConnell as their Senate leader.

"I think we're gonna do very well," Trump told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo. "We need good leadership. Mitch McConnell has not done a great job. I think they should change Mitch McConnell."

McConnell later on Fox News seemed to suggest Trump was not the future of the Republican Party.

"We're looking to the future, not the past," McConnell said on the cable news network. "And if you want to see the future of the Republican Party, watch Tim Scott's response to President Biden last night. He's the future. That's where we're headed. We're not preoccupied with the past, but looking forward."

Scott, a GOP senator from South Carolina and the chamber's only black Republican, on Wednesday night delivered the party's response Biden's address to a joint session of Congress.

Trump and McConnell have had uneven relationship that got worse after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, after which the senator held then-President Trump responsible.

Trump during a recent speech called McConnell a "dumb son of a bitch."

McConnell was seen Wednesday night in House chambers before the Biden speech talking to Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, a member of House GOP leadership, who voted to impeach Trump.

McConnell sabotaged Trump’s presidency more than anyone.

It is indeed a Time for Choosing.

They won’t do to us what they did to Goldwater.

In the early 2000’s it was said blacks would be 20% of the population within 20 years and 30% before 2050.

They were 12% then. They are 13% now, given 60% of abortions are blacks. The democrats essentially executed partial genocide by supporting abortion.

The explosive growth Did Not Happen.

Trump shouldn’t have listened to McConnell throughout his presidency. Many of Trump’s supporters also thought McConnell was on our side.

Mark Meadows is Working with Lindsey Graham on Establishment-Approved ‘Contract for America’

Meadows explained during an appearance on Just the News AM with host Sophie Mann that he is working with establishment stalwarts such as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on an overarching plan that will be palatable to the GOP establishment.

McConnell sabotaged Trump’s presidency more than anyone.

Correct.

Mitch doesn't seem to understand that 25 percent of ALL voters went for Perot the first time.

That was before we figured out we were electing Clinton-types by voting for fiscal responsibility.

Now we've figured out that we were voting for RINO Mitt-weasels this whole time after 1992.

The Repukes ain't got a future without that 20-25 percent...

The Dems don’t need the blacks now that they’ve automated their “voting” with Dominion machines...

We do need leadership makeover in House and Senate. Give Scott a chance? Or others. Time for McConnell to go. We need new blood, new leadership.

I don’t know WHO is the future of the Republican Party. But I know what is, at least if it wants to survive as a viable party.

The McConnell, Cheney, Romney, Murkowski, etc. wing of the party stands for nothing, offers nothing and is nothing. They give great speeches and use the issues their voters care about as props. They are really just the moderate wing of the big government uni-party.

The Tump wing is misunderstood. It isn’t about Donald Trump. If Donald Trump had run as a more charismatic version of Jeb Bush, he would have NEVER gotten the nomination. No, Trump didn’t create a movement or the agenda that is needed to rescue this country. He was the first candidate who didn’t use it as a prop to sucker voters into supporting him only for him to serve a Chamber of Commerce/Globalist master. America First wasn’t his slogan, it was the bond of his word.

McConnell/Romeny wing-mouth the words and pull the carpet out from under their voters as soon as they are elected. Add to that an unceasing apology and groveling to the media in hopes of currying favor.

Trump wing-Here is what I promise and I am keeping those promises. And those promises are the things that the GOP has been campaigning on and lying about for years. We, this wing, aren’t lying.
