C-SPAN is owned by the cable companies of America. Think CNN. They must have many many microphones picking up the clapping from many different areas of the room. People spread out that much in a huge room with a high ceiling would not make clapping that loud with a normal microphone.
At President Trump’s rallies with 20,000 to 30,000 people the only clapping that was picked up had to be from the microphone at the podium.
