She made the right decision. There’s no reason to live there, the stress alone is a killer. That’s the reason I moved 10 years ago, my blood pressure was through the roof and my doctor said the stress was eventually going to kill me. Everything is work work work work work money money money money, everyone works 12 plus hour days, everybody is stressed. I use to call it a mini North Korea as Bloomberg use to act like a dictator dictating what we can eat. What shocked the hell out of me was once I moved to the country in Pennsylvania, I could - not - believe how much EASIER life was! All that time I wasted!
My daughter was 3 when we went to visit relatives on Long Island. We took the LIRR from LaGuardia. It was mid afternoon before rush hour. My daughter very loudly said, “Mommy, why does everybody look so angry?” There were some chuckles and then an uncomfortable silence from the other passengers. But she was right. I grew up there, but glad to have left.
