“ We haven’t won a war in 3/4 of a century.”
Wrong.
We won every war. But when the war changed from a war to anti-insurgent nation building we failed at that.
Wrong. We were CAPABLE of winning the wars in question. But we instead chose the destructive strategy you mentioned. That’s still losing the war.
Correct. It is not a problem with our military. It is a problem with using the military to do things, such as win hearts and minds, that the military can never have success. Kill and break things - no problem. Get people to love you after you kill and break things doesn't work. It is a hideous idea.
Imagine the ChiComs invading US soil and suppose they were successful in defeating our military. Do you think there would be an insurgency? I know I would be part of it. I would die trying. No way am I going to live under Commie rule. The ChiComs would try to win our hearts and minds. There are all kinds of things they would do. They would quickly gain the support of Democrats, progressives, and mindless idots of our nation. Thus freedom loving Americans would not only be fighting ChiComs, they would be fighting other Americans.
Other countries are no different. People are people.
“We won every war. But when the war changed from a war to anti-insurgent nation building we failed at that.”
Absolutely correct.
We, as a nation, do not have what it takes to do what is necessary to end insurgency and project our will on others.
It would take an absolute willingness to crush resistance brutally and while maintaining moral standards.
Our certainty that we fight on the side of the righteous has been eroded by allowing leftists to thrive.
