Every monsoon season India and Bangladesh have cholera and typhoid outbreaks but that barely warrants a mention in the news. BTW, cholera and typhoid shots always hurt but hurt like hell the first time (now they’re available orally), and they worked for a long time before you needed a booster. Anecdotal but I have been getting those and other exotic shots since I was a child (flu when offered and convenient up to a few years back) for worldwide deployment and have never been sick with anything, only short-lived colds, knock on wood. Not concerned about the Chinese cooties.
