It is a protease inhibitor...like the breakthrough anti-HIV drugs. Wonder if it is any different in its exact site of action. Couldnt they just have used a formerly approved discarded hiv protease inhibitor? They would have had all the safety data at least.
Pfizer only in phase 1...way too early to see if safe and effective...sounds like a hopeful political ploy...shore up stock values...good optics for now.
