Actually, the only human Phase I/II/III trials by FDA standards:

Pfizer / BioNTech
Moderna
AstraZeneca
J&J / Janssen

Only the first 2 are mRNA, and even then, would not have involved the experimentation you referenced, while however still capable of producing antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), as are the other 2.

mRNA research is at least 10 years old (older if you include trials) and was directed initially as cancer-killing vehicles to utilize the immune system to attack cancer cells, which has been vastly hit-or-miss to date; however, at least that timeline has produced a pool of patients who have not produced a statistically-signifiant, unwanted 'expression' of adverse genetic fallout from mRNA treatment.

10 years is young in testing, no doubt, and of course this was an enhanced, "Operation Warp Speed" timeline to utilize this 'still-young' delivery package for a resilient, Chinese-engineered-to-cause-a-global-pandemic SARS virus.
