One of the city commissioners in my suburban Seattle town got attacked at his weekend mountain house.
Exactly the same attack method, and a female bear, as I recall.
His scalp and skull injuries were horrific.
He looked like an extra from The Walking Dead for the first year.
I have not seen a photograph since, but I heard he has had multiple surgeries and looks much better.
Tragically, he was the only Conservative business owner on the Commission, and he started marching to the Left almost instantly after the attack.
It makes me shudder. Accounts are rife with bear bad breath (shudder) slavering, snuffling, growling, and bites and slashes as the victim curls up and tries to pretend it isn’t happening.
On the commission, did HE start going lefty after the attack, or was it the rest of the commission going that way without him as a restraining influence?
“Tragically, he was the only Conservative business owner on the Commission, and he started marching to the Left almost instantly after the attack.”
Seriously, why would being attacked by a bear change your politics in that direction? I would think that it would be just the opposite - for example, if you didn’t have a gun because of one or several laws/regulations and got mauled, then you might become pro-gun. But the other way? Doesn’t make any sense.

Perhaps his brain was injured, too.
