Our current politicians have ZERO regard for the Constitution- they know that most of the yokels out there don’t even know what’s in it really..

No court is going to oppose it.

No “law enforcement” agency is going to oppose them.

That leaves us. And once again they are gonna shove our noses in it and say “yeah? - what are YOU gonna do about it, huh?...”

And we will again remain good honest citizens, shrug our shoulders and say “gee.. I guess there’s nothing we can do...”

Normally there is no constitutional requirement for ratification by the states in order to add a state.

Do you mean because of D.C.’s special constitutional nature? Because if the House and Senate pass a bill admitting D.C. as a state and the Old Man signs it into law, the only thing that could stop it is if somebody takes is to court. If that happens, SCOTUS could very well decline to consider the case (in order to avoid being assaulted by the mob), et voilà!
