#84 Does Minnesota get tundra mosquitos like Alaska?

No but they are at least double or triple or even bigger as seen below in size the further north you go. I was in Mille Lacs Lake area and saw a cloud over the lake. They were mosquitos at least twice as big as those in the Minneapolis area I lived in. Now go 180 miles north to Big Portage lake and they are even bigger. They stick their snouts in the screen mesh at night daring you to go outside.

My sister and her best friend were in Alaska during the summer. They were visiting Mt. McKinley. They got there around sundown.
According to the story, the mosquitos were so fierce that they drove the girls back into their tent. They sealed it up and killed all the mosquitos inside, but there mosquitos on the tent punching their proboscises into the tent fabric and buzzing.
The next day was perfect, one of the rare days that you can see the summit. But they were so outta sorts that just snapped their pictures, threw their stuff in the trunk and ran for it.
