The jury’s guilty verdict of former police officer Derek Chauvin at the trial over George Floyd’s death was “a step towards dealing with institutional racism in America,” Ned Price, a spokesperson for the State Department, declared Wednesday.
Price applauded the former Minneapolis police officer Chauvin’s guilty verdict, handed down Tuesday, at the top of the press briefing.
Nevertheless, Price declared of Chauvin’s verdict:
"The outcome does not represent full justice, but it does represent accountability, which is a step towards dealing with institutional racism in America. The verdict also does not diminish the pain felt by black and brown communities, which is a deep trauma to which people of color and marginalized communities around the world can relate."
It is not typical for the State Department, responsible for U.S. foreign policy and international relations, to take a position on a domestic case.

I think it’ll be awhile before Old Glory goes back on display in front of my house.
How does common sense and dignity return to a government run by radical people who now, from top to bottom, declare their own country and the very institutions they run, racist and broken?
The answer: It doesn’t. I don’t see a way back to normalcy.
Money and the ethnic cleansing of the White population.
“The verdict also does not diminish the pain felt by black and brown communities,...”
I disagree with your thinking, Ned. Here’s what I think will happen; it’s encapsulated in a saying which was popular during the VN conflict:
When the U.S. encountered a group of 100 enemy, they might kill two but bring back 98 as prisoners.
When the ROK (South Korean Marines) encountered a group of 100 enemy, they would bring back two prisoners!
Get the drift, Ned? Probably not. U.S. peacekeepers will shoot first, ask questions later. You won’t have the opportunity to do your on the scene nitpicking.
The guy who picked the jackass to represent the dim party is the only dim to have got it right.
They are every single one a jackass.
I give up - how is this domestic criminal trial any of the State Department’s business and why are they venturing any opinion about it?
sins of our fathers. whitey has to pay.
😂😂😂 love it!
Chauvin is a dead man walking and will be assassinated in flaunting and flagrant fashion, just like Epstein was.
The Woke Globalist Elite want us to know they can get away with murdering anyone anywhere.
Sends a message.
Biden’s continued badgering us on racism is pushing Americans too far……
and is inviting one heck of a backlash.
Biden’s constant refrain is about “how bad we are,”
implying he, of course, is “so good.”
Biden tells us, we, the people, need to be “as good as the government.”
The Biden State Dept weighing in shows how far Biden will go to show us bad people how really, really good the Biden government is.
What is justice?....chauvin drug through the streets and his body ground off by the asphalt until there is nothing left?...he was tried and found guilty in a very unfair venue and media climate...Chauvin can’t atone for 1000 years of real and/or perceived grievances...he was tried and convicted for his actions on that day...that is justice, no....
I wondered if Chauvin was a bad ass or if this was his first case of brutality. People are coming out of the woodworks. Mostly black and hispanic men who were bullied, beaten, choked out by Chauvin. I noticed when they read the Guilty verdict he looked ANGRY. Not scared or sad or surprised. He looked angry, like a madman. He isn’t very big and won’t do well in prison. But with a badge and a gun and back up he was bad ass. I hope he enjoys Bubba McDick as a cell mate.
Anti-American Staten Department.
Swell.
In college in the late 1960s we called it The Establishment. The Deep State is the new name for the old Marxists group.
You are right. If George Floyd had been employed instead of stoned on three drugs, passing conterfeit bills, he wouldn’t have been arrested, he would have been at work. If he had gone peacefully when arrested, he would still be alive.
Less testosterone than Circleback Jen....
So why bother. Leave me be.
Only the public crucifixion of Chauvin would represent rue justice!
Needle Nose Ned
Amiright or amiright? (maybe it was Needle Nosed Ned)
Watch that first step. It’s a doozy!
Sure thing, Ned.
