What are ‘they’ supposed to do? Besides living your own life and trying to raise your kids in an upstanding manner, what are you supposed to do about your neighbors who don’t?

If you’re an honest, but too-poor-to move man or woman and you are surrounded by gang-bangers who you hope will just leave you and your kids alone, you are basically helpless. If you call the police on your neighbors, the police will come, do whatever and then leave. You will be left to your neighbors’ mercy.

And for what it’s worth this happened in a Hispanic, not a black neighborhood, not that that makes any real difference.

That said, Lightfoot’s proposed rule is stupid and will only serve to keep more criminals on the street.
