They could have convince the Judge they are scared for their lives. Maybe a mis-trial instead of a verdict. I heard the news media is already doxing the jury.
Who in their right mind would serve on this jury?
If that were the case, they would simply instruct the bailiff that they wanted to speak with the judge, which does happen in some jury deliberations, either for questions or to have the court record read back (juries generally can’t read the court transcript for themselves, weirdly). That’s not what is happening. Instead, they’ve instructed the bailiff that they’ve reached a verdict. It’s a verdict.
