It was originally going to be weeks before we saw the body count from the vaccines. Then it was 2-3 months. Then 6 months. Then a year. Then 2-3 years.
Now it’s “in a few years”?
I guess if we just keep moving the goalpost, we never have to admit that we missed.

The key point is that we don't have a vaccine for the common cold. The same issue applies to SARS-CoV-2, SARS and MERS viruses. A fool's errand.
Well, no. Not really.
We don't have a vaccine for the common cold because that would require one vaccine formulated to work against over 200 different viruses from multiple families. While there's no technical reason this couldn't be done, it would cost a truly massive amount to accomplish. Nobody's going to spend $30,000 a year to avoid getting a cold. Hence, no market for a cold vaccine. Hence, no cold vaccine.
We actually DO have vaccines for SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV. The MERS-CoV vaccine got an EUA in 2012 or 2013. It simply wasn't needed because MERS didn't spread well and burned out very quickly. The SARS2003 vaccine candidate made it to phase 3 clinical trials, but that disease also burned out quickly and with no market for the final product, nobody funded the phase 3 trial.
We've had working COVID-19 vaccines since March of 2020. The first doses were given March 16, 2020. We have ample evidence to show they're working extremely well. No evidence to show their effect is waning or significantly impacted by the new variants. The vaccines are safe and effective. And they're ending COVID-19.
Mrna is a single strand of nucleotides.. proteins are much more complex. Where do the additional nucleotides come from.

A peer-reviewed study with a substantial number of participants documenting infection patterns would be very convincing. You know what isn't convincing? One person claiming they heard some people say some stuff. That isn't proof. That isn't evidence. That's one person claiming they heard other people say stuff.
I'm hearing from clinicians that 88.975% of new COVID-19 infections are caused by aliens from Venus. Per your standard of "proof", we must now all accept that aliens from Venus are infecting people with COVID-19. I assume you can see why just taking hearsay as gospel is absurd, yes?
