I may be ignorant, but, if we build all this new housing and move homeless in, how long util these places have all the problems of Section 8 housing projects? And does it really help people in the street to put them in hell holes like housing projects? Does it address the mental illness or other issues which caused them to live in the streets in the first place?

It won’t work. For starters no neighborhood wants any homeless housing units built in their areas. Second, the housing units cost a fortune, they couldn’t build enough of them. Third, even if they could figure out how and where to build enough units, they can’t force the homeless to move into them.
