Nearly half of New York’s nursing home workers haven’t gotten the COVID-19 vaccine — so the state Department of Health is now putting more pressure on the facilities to bridge the gap, The Post has learned.
Health department brass issued new guidance late Thursday that requires nursing homes to offer “an opportunity to receive” the jab to all consenting residents and staff by April 29 and within two weeks of a new hire or a new admission, records obtained by The Post show.
Both staff and residents who opt out will need to sign paperwork acknowledging that they are declining. Facilities that don’t comply with the new rules may be penalized up to $2,000 per violation, the DOH

my spouse works in a healthcare facility with 100’s of employees, 100% of the the people that work there that have refused the vaccine are black.
Is it because they are smarter than everyone else there? No, the rules are if you have been vaccinated, and you are exposed to someone (at home or at work) with covid, you don’t need to stay home for two weeks.
So now what happens is about every 3 weeks, the people who have not been vaccinated call in and say ‘I was exposed to someone with covid’, and the managers are required to give them 2 weeks off with pay.
So the white people keep showing up at work, and those that know how and are willing continue to milk the system - as usual.
It sounds like you are saying their smarter than everyone else?
Funny they weren’t worried about putting covid infected people in nursing homes to murderer the elderly and the workers yet they demand they vax up

Did you know that viruses are not spread like what the media wants you to believe. You are born with more than 400 million viral genomes in your body. You need viruses and bacteria to live a healthy life. Covis19 ONLY exists in the media. Oh yes the corona virus is everywhere. It was here before humans and it may well be here when humans are gone.
Grow up people and do your own research while you still can.

My daughter is a nurse in Texas. The hospital she works for had a high number of staff decline the shots, until they decided to pay the employees $500 each for taking the shot.
NYS has changed those rules. Paid vacations are a lot harder to get...

Why are they pushing the vaccine IF Fauci says that the vaccine does not stop you from getting COVID or transmitting it?
Is the $500 just so that the symptoms will be lessened?
I have a neighbor here in Texas who is in the administration of an organization that owns a number of nursing homes here. He says that all workers and patients in his groups were vaccinated in December and January. It’s no wonder that Texas has so few cases, and New York has so many.
Blacks are particularly vulnerable to infection and poor outcomes from RNA viruses, and not just from Covid-19. They are more vulnerable to HIV and Hepatitis C viral infections, too.
Suburban Karens who aren't particularly vulnerable to Covid-19 are snatching up available doses of the vaccine, while urban Blacks are declining available doses.
Perhaps it it you who has forgotten the Tuskegee experiment. In the Tuskegee experiment, it was the blacks who were given no drugs.
Hard to know since the stats are crap.
NYS counts probables and repeat positives of the same patient as new cases if you hadn’t heard.
And good luck find out the cycle threshold in use for testing at any lab.
